Fairy Door...

Hi all, Hopefully everyone has had a lovely, sunny Bank Hols....talk about gorgeous weather...hope it stays a while longer....
Only here to show this little Fairy door I made, it will go onto a tree in the back garden where, I hope, Jacob can let his imagination run wild, well, eventually...but you have to be prepared don't you...!!!

Made from clay, very simply to do, just roll out to size required, lots of scores to give wood effect, little hinges and door handle made with left over bits, once dry, [which takes a while, no point standing there drumming your fingers girls, not going to happen over night...] painted with a mix of acrylics and finally top coated with a few coats of varnish....now waiting on a helper, these days I can't kneel so well , so it's a case of waiting........
Don't forget to make holes for the nails to fix it all up....can't wait, got to do the steps now, and someone mentioned a window....
Have a nice evening everyone...thanks so much for the visit..

Hi Janette, this is fabulous, really looks like wood.
Just hope you don't get too many fairies wanting to live there!
Enjoy your nice weather, we've been back to winter today.
Hugs, Avril xx

oh wow this is just fabulous Janette. So magical :D
Regarding my clematis, it was already well established when we moved in almost 12 years ago, it had to be supported with some metal poles as the trellis it has grown around was falling down.It is a Montana clematis which I trim every week as it just grows big tendrils everywhere :D
