Good morning, hope all in the UK have survived
the storm, it got pretty bad, I know many are still without power, and lots of damage. I managed to get away with the garden fencing folded up like paper and the concrete posts of two of them just crumbled, it was pretty nasty.

OK then, I have had this box more than thirty years, it once was a green colour and it contained a gift from my Mam, over the years I have re-covered it a few times, it started to look very tired again, so grabbed my favourite papers and here it is, some black around the top and a touch of gold rub, tah-dah. :))
I am quite pleased with it, saved for a few more years I hope.
Here is a picture of the before, it was pretty awful.
There we go, another one bites the dust.
Thats all again folks, must say abig THANK YOU for the comments last time, its so nice to see what you all think.
Take care.

The wind was terrible and few times it sounded like the bedroom window was going to blow in, but thankfully that was it and fence remained standing-so we were very lucky. I love your newly decorated box with such beautiful paper and gold touches round the lid.

Your box looks beautiful, and its nice to re cover it so it can be used for years to come,
I am fed up with these storms at the moment its pouring with rain and blowing a gale, not we are under a new weather warning which has just been issued, take care and stay safe hugs
The storm was dreadful and left a lot of damage and disruption. Sorry to read about your fence, it must have been very scary and worrying for you, at least you and yours are safe, thank goodness.
Wasn't too bad here, in fact it's worse today, really high winds and lashing with rain- no damage so far....
Your box looks gorgeous Janette, what a transformation, and how lovely that you've kept it all these years, a little reminder of your Mum.
xx
Your re vamped box is gorgeous Janette, you know that is one of my most favourite thing to do but I have run out of shelf space and really tried to stop..lol..there is a stack of boxes on the other side of my craft room and one day I WILL tackle them and cover and decorate again.. ( after I figure out where to put more shelves, hee hee )..beautiful papers and gold detail , so gorgeous..what is going in there?

Just rain today! So sorry to read about your fence.. So scary too.
Gorgeous Janette storms were bad here we have no back fence and neither do both of our neighbous! hugs xx
We were very lucky, with no damage around us, apart from the nearby woods with trees down. Sorry to hear you suffered damage. I love what you've done to your Mum's box, it's really beautiful. x
Janette, your re-freshed box is absolutely beautiful! The transformation with your favorite papers and the touch of gold rub is stunning. It's wonderful that you've kept this box for so many years, and it now looks ready for many more.
That storm was pretty awful Janette and over here there are so many people still without electricity and some without water would you believe!! Glad you are ok even if the poor fence didn't make it! I love your box make over. It looks so expensive in those colours with the black.
Wow what a transformation on your box. Sooo much better. It's really pretty. Love the added gold. It goes perfect with the paper. Glad to hear that you're ok after the bad storms.
Hope you have a good new year ahead.
